Any other young people who've had cataract surgery? - cataract surgery in uveitis

I'm 29, I develop uveitis, which to me a cataract in one eye. I am leaving next week for surgery, has anyone else had for me to know what to expect? If you have uveitis, what are the treatment options are there?

Unfortunately, the general experience of most people who have undergone cataract surgery is not to apply when there is a history of uveitis. Many people say that the cataract surgery, "a piece of cake" or that his vision was better before leaving the operating room was. Most of them are at least 50 years and not uveitis.

The two young people and a history of uveitis seem to increase the risk of surgery. The younger eyes tend to be at increased risk of retinal detachment after surgery. Eyes with a history of infections are at higher risk of elevated intraocular pressure (glaucoma), macular edema (swelling of the retina) and the opacity of the late intraocular lenses (IOL). The treatment of these conditions can be difficult.

The treatment of uveitis is often done gradually topical steroids, corticosteroids by mouth in motion. If the inflammation is not with antimetabolite drugs such as methotrexate may be necessary, controlled. There are complementary treatments, which has been investigated, but few are as the sharing of test orAdvantages.

Finally, if uveitis affects both eyes (or repeat) in one eye, it should be tested for blood for the cause of uveitis.

We hope that this is helpful.
